Role Play
Our role play space allows children to use their imagination and expand their horizons. With a well-stocked supermarket, little ones can explore groceries from the greengrocers to store cupboard staples which we hope will help with familiarity to different foods.
Once they have purchased their necessary items, they can take these to the café to build delectable meals to serve to their friends and family.
They also can act out what they have learnt and feed their own babies too.
Children learn best through play and therefore, by participating in role play with food, they become more aware of variety, balanced meals and are hopefully more willing to try new things.
Floor Space
We wanted to ensure that parents with babies still felt able to come to The Family Nook so have created an open floor space with activity boards, age-appropriate toys and books to support development of our youngest Little Nooks.
It has been shown that free movement and floor play is best for young children to develop their mobility, dexterity and agility, so we hope your little ones will enjoy the safe space we have at our café.
Cosy Corner
Though we all know our little ones can be a wonderful whirlwind at times, we also know that it is important for them to have a space to relax, unwind and feel calm.
Here they can look through books, snuggle down on the comfy mattress and cushions, be creative with lights, drawing and magnets and explore toys to help them not only identify emotions but start to develop ways to manage them. We want our children to know that all emotions are normal and learn how to process their feelings in a safe and supportive environment.
We think that not only will the kids like this space but that parents will enjoy it too.
