Liv Usborne MBChB MRCGP

Founder of The Family Nook & General Practitioner

I wanted to create The Family Nook to provide parents and caregivers with a safe space to come and to find the support that you need as a young family from experienced and reputable professionals.

On this page we list professionals who we have worked with or have experience with and hope will be able to support you in your own journeys.

My own expertise is as a GP who has worked in the NHS for over 15 years. I have a keen interest in lifestyle medicine and how this can impact your overall health. I have tried to instill these principles within The Family Nook.

I have dealt with multiple families over my time as a doctor and also have a young family of my own. Though I have a lot of experience, I am still aware of my own limitations and will always refer on to others (listed below) when needed and necessary.

As an Independent Midwife, I offer personalised care that centres you and your family. This means longer appointments, continuity throughout your journey (currently antenatal and postnatal care only), and space for your questions, preferences and reflections. My role is not to direct your choices, but to ensure you feel informed, supported and confident in them.

ICounsellor, Psychotherapist & Couples Therapist

Suzie Booth MSC. MBACP (accred.)

A counsellor, pyschotherapist and couples therapist specialising in supporting parents through the emotional realities of family life.

She works with individuals and couples who feel overwhelmed, stretched thin or disconnected; helping them find steadiness, clarity and a renewed sense of connection in themselves and their relationships.

Alongside her private therapy practice, Suzie delivers talks/workshops for parent communities, offering practical and psychologically grounded insight into managing the pressures of modern parenting.

Suzie also has created a self paced online course “Overwhelmed to Empowered” designed to support parents and help them to feel more calm and confident in family life.

Career & Parenthood Coach

Hayley Hubble

I’m a career and parenthood transition coach based in Horsham.

I support people through periods of change – especially parents (and those juggling caring roles) who are at that “something needs to shift… but I’m not sure what” stage. Whether you’re returning to work after having children, rethinking your career, or feeling like your old path no longer fits your life, you’re not alone in that.

This is work I really get – because these transitions aren’t just practical, they’re personal. They’re tied up in identity, confidence, and trying to build something that works for you and your family (not just on paper, but in real life too).

I help you untangle all of that. Together, we make sense of your skills, build your confidence, and turn your experience into something that opens new doors. I can also support with CVs, applications, and interviews – but always with the bigger picture in mind, so you’re not putting all your hopes into one path.

I offer one-off sessions, Parenthood & Career packages to a more in-depth Career Clarity & Transition programme, depending on what kind of support feels right for you. Sessions can be in person locally or online and it's all tailored to you and your circumstances.

If you’re feeling a bit stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for something to shift – you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
